Summary

Luke joins the story when Paul starts a new phase of ministry. Luke’s early ministry occurs in Philippi.

Luke accompanies Paul on his final journey to Jerusalem. Luke waited for Paul in Judea from A.D. 56-59. Luke journeyed with Paul to Rome from A.D. 59-60. Luke stayed with Paul in Rome from A.D. 60-64.

Luke researched his books while in Judea waiting for Paul. Luke probably wrote The Acts at the same time as his Gospel. Luke found many sources for the Acts while in the Holy Land.

Luke may have written the book of Hebrews. There are many lines of evidence for Lukan authorship. Hebrews was clearly not written by Paul, who signed his letters. Luke did not sign his works.

Luke prospered where God put him. He really cared about people knowing the truth. Luke was truly humble
